Jason Louv is back in the house. And why wouldn't he be? We had maybe my favorite chat this year back in episode 77. I think we damn near tore the house down with that one. So if you haven't heard that one yet, I’d slather that across your earholes first and then come back to this one.
But, like any good sequel, this one stands alone, on its own. And you can judge for yourself if it lives up to the first one.
Jason is, of course, the author of the recently released John Dee and the Empire of Angels. He's also written and edited a slew of other books and teaches magic at his website Magick.Me. And he's also the guy who is fresh off a rather entertaining Skeptiko appearance which left me with both a chuckle and a reminder of why I no longer listen to that podcast.
Anyway, in this episode Jason and I will be chatting a bit about John Dee’s mentors and syncretic beliefs, Dee’s interest in cryptography and if the Enochian tables could be elaborate ciphers, and Jason gets really into this idea of unlocking substrate consciousness with Enochian magick, which is an interesting idea, to say the least.
